Yes, I do more than offer relationship advice, if you want to go on vacation, I can probably recommend a good place to visit, so, I responded to someone’s request for advice on Twitter regarding his vacation and decided to share it with you. He wanted to go to Cancun, but he was worried about drug riots.
Well, in my opinion, of course it’s best to not go somewhere that you might not enjoy your vacation. Let’s face it, some people save months or even years to go on vacation, why would you go somewhere that you won’t enjoy yourself? Having said that, there are other places you can go in the same area, and not worry so much about the threat of violence. The Mayan Riviera is beautiful, with beautiful beaches to ‘frolic’ on and breathtaking sunsets to enjoy. It is also incredibly rich in culture and history, especially when you check out Tulum and Chitchen itsa. The area is located on the Yucatan Peninsula and includes Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Cozumel; among other popular tourist destinations.
Personally, Cancun would actually be lowest on my list of recommendations to begin with. Playa del Carmen has so much more to offer and there are many NEW all-inclusive resorts from which to choose, some friends of mine went a few years ago for the first time, and continue to return year after year. Cozumel would also be a good choice, it is less touristy despite the fact that most cruise lines visit the island every day. Much of the island, outside of the main town, remains quiet and peaceful. It was claimed, by Jacques Cousteau to have some of the best places to go scuba diving in the world. As the cruise ships sail away into the sunset, it becomes a silent, tropical paradise. I would highly recommend it, of course you also have amaaaaaazing Mexican food. Just go a little bit past the main roads and you will find some great restaurants that attract the locals.
The beauty of Cozumel and Playa del Carmen are their proximity to each other, just take a ferry and you can be at one or the other in less than 30 minutes. If you get seasick, wear a patch or wear the sea bands wrist seasick things.
When you’re going on vacation, do your research, ask questions, ask people you know and don’t know…most people can only take a good trip every year or two, why accept anything less than what you deserve as a reward for all of your hard work!
